At least six people were killed when a truck off-road race plowed into a crowd in Southern California in late Saturday, authorities said.

All six were pronounced dead at the scene around 7:48 p.m. local time (10:48 p.m. EST), said Tim Franke of the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

Four others were transported to hospital by air ambulance in serious condition. Five others were transported with minor injuries to moderate.
